Junior Bassmasters and Casting Kids is a
great organization that helps promote fishing
and introducing the younger generation to the
outdoors.

If you have any free time, please give a
Saturday or Sunday to participate with these
two great opportunities.
CASTING KIDS- Is a great way to teach kids how to FLIP, PITCH AND CAST. I have
helped with several of these events over the last few years. The age group is 7 through
15. I don't have any pictures because I am using helping the kids. It is really fun and it is
so fun watching the kids faces light up when the learn how to do these skills. I recently
spent the day at the Texas Parks and Wildlife Expo in Austin working with the kids all day.
Even though it was really hot, we had kids lined up all day and they were willing to wait
30-45 minutes just to have the opportunity to compete and learn. We had a lot of girls try,
and this is one of the reasons that I love doing these.

I had the best day hanging out with our future anglers. I had the
great pleasure of  helping out with the 2006 Texas Junior
Bassmaster State Championship Tournament held at Stillhouse Lake
and then I helped out with the Texas State CastingKids Championship
held at Sportsman Warehouse in Round Rock. It was an awesome
experience and there are some really great kids out there that will
influence our sport in the future. I want to congratulate all the kids
that participate, what a great group of kids.  The men and women
that work with these kids in the Texas Federation do an outstanding
job and the kids that I saw yesterday truly appreciate their passion
and time devoted by these men and women.

YOU THE INFORMATION.
I fished the Junior Bassmasters in 2007 with
my granddaughter Erica - she was five at
the time. Team Grandma and Erica won two
tournaments and went to the state
tournament in Amistad, Tx.
