WBT Tour Angler
August 2008
I am like all anglers who try to figure out how to pay for
their bass obsession. I was looking forward to fishing the
next tournament in September at Clarks Hill but due to
financial reasons I will not be able to  fish. My luck is
running on the bad side, my truck is going to require some
major repair, so there went my tournament money.

I have been working two jobs for almost four months and
hopefully within the next year I will be able to pay all my
credit cards  (that I fished on the last three years ) . If I can
get the cards paid off  I will be able to fish all tournaments
next year.

I will be at the Bassmaster Classic in February in
Shreveport  to cheer on the WBT Angler of the Year that
will be fishing. If you are at the Bassmaster Classic I hope
to see you there, be sure to say HI.

I am hoping that I will obtain a few new sponsors who can
financially help with my expenses for the 2009 season.  I
am hopeful that some business out there wants a very
talkative Texan to help spread the word about their
business.

June 2008
The tournament at Old Hickory Lake in Tennessee was a
great adventure. I caught lots of small fish just under 14
inches for the largemouth; a few short smallmouth and
Kentucky spots. Caught a 30 pound catfish on the second
day prefishing. The first day I zipped, caught a bunch of
short fish just none would measure. Friday at 6:30 am I
caught my one and only keeper, a whopping 1.11 on a
silver and black H20 crankbait.

I had a new traveling partner this trip, Liz Havens fishing in
her first WBT tournament. She fishes local tournaments
but wanted to try the WBT. Needless to say she had a
great week, she won the Co-Angler side - a pretty good
first tournament.

Next stop Clarks Hill, Georgia - I have two months to get
my A game back and have to rebound from a bad year.
Check back for more information about weigh times and
information.  Stay tune.

May 2008
This month was very hard for me as I did not get to make
the last tournament to Lake Neely  Henry.  It was one of the
longest and depressing week in along time.  This
experience  just confirms that I have to figure out a way to
fish every tournament. I will be at the June tournament, if I
have to get a third job. I think that I have a serious
obsession with this fishing. Oh well, there are worse things
that I could do with my life.

April 20, 2008
Like most of my fellow anglers, we all struggle with trying
to figure out how to pay for the fishing obsession that
drive most of us to reach for the stars and want to one day
hoist up that trophy that says we were the best that day.
So in my quest to figure out how to pay for this journey, I
started a part time job today.  I now work in the evenings at
Academy Sports. They sponsor our tour and now I get to
work there and they pay me to talk about fishing - what a
great gig!  I still have my full time job working for the state
of Texas.  So to all of you who struggle to get to each
tournament, never give up and you would be surprised
what you can do when you set your mind to it.  Keep the
dream alive and never stop reaching for that trophy.

April 13, 2008
I fished the first tournament of the Year at Lake Lewisville -
April 10-12th - what an adventure - the weather was bad,
wind oh my gosh a lot of wind and the bass kept their
mouths shut. I caught a few short (13.5 inches) of course. I
didn't weigh in any legal fish. But I can only do better the
next tournament.
This is a new page to my website, here I will give a brief summary of
my tournaments and also any insight or thoughts that  I want to
share. Thank you for reading, and I always enjoy email's.
